A message from Father John

Dear All

Our list is growing - if you know someone in the parish who would like to be included - check with them first - please forward their email address to Maureen.
Yesterday was very strange - Sunday without a Sunday Mass!
And yet ... I said Mass on my own but you were at the heart of my prayer - how could it be otherwise?

The Penitential Rite - our customary invitation to recognise our weakness and frailty in the face of the overwhelming mercy of God - became my prayer for all those struggling to make sense of our current crisis.
I thought of those suffering with the virus, those mourning the loss of their loved one, the doctors, nurses and care staff.
I thought of those whose primary response is fear (and greed?) and rush to fill their larders and the staff of the shops who have to be so patient.
I thought of the school staff who today must act as carers rather than teachers.
And of course all of us who must now adjust our lives even on a day to day basis.

We all need the strength that only God’s love can provide.

May the wisdom, patience and prayer of St Joseph sustain us

Can I ask your prayers please for E and P who are poorly in hospital and for Joanne and Anne who have died. If you know of anyone who needs our prayers please let me know on john.dale@dioceseofsalford.org.uk

Every blessing

Fr John
