A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

Good morning

I’m sorry we missed Mass and exposition yesterday but we’re back on schedule today.
I might have to shift the chapel for a few days next week but I’m still waiting for the builders to give me their programme.

One of our parishioners sent the following song lyrics; apparently it was very popular on Radio 2 a few years back. It’s reminiscent of the theme of ‘I’ll walk with God’ that we saw a few days ago.

It also echoes the prayer of St Paul in the Letter to the Romans that we’ve been hearing recently on Sundays:

’The Spirit comes to help us in our weakness’ - last week.
‘We know that by turning everything to their good God co-operates with all those who love him’ - tomorrow

This is by Lauren Daigle

I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up

Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know.

The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity

Taking all I have and now I'm layin' it at Your feet
You'll have every failure God, You'll have every victory

You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh, You say I am Yours
And I believe, oh, I believe
What You say of me
I believe.

Our church opening for private prayer is going well; about five or six parishioners are coming to each session for the quiet and the familiarity of church - many thanks to our faithful volunteers.
We’re not yet ready to open for public worship; there are just too many mixed messages about the numbers of people allowed to gather in safety. As soon as it becomes clearer we will open with all possible safeguards. Let us please continue to pray for each other, especially for those who feel isolated.

One of our younger parishioners didn’t fancy the idea of going on a paper round for her pocket money and so has set up a little kitchen industry making fudge. I had to try it - with my arm up my back - and it was delicious. If there’s anything more to report, I’ll let you know.

St Joseph, pray for us

Every blessing

Fr John
