A message from Fr John

Posted on: 02/10/2020

Dear Friends
Good morning
Day 6
Today’s Gospel is Luke 10: 17 - 24
The disciples come back rejoicing in their mission success and return to the congratulations of Jesus.
He also reminds them of where their power comes from - not from any strength of their own but by the power of the Holy Spirit who chooses them in their simplicity not their cleverness.
Can we remember a time when the Lord has worked through us enabling others to see the glory and the love of God?
What did it feel like?
Humbling? Joyous? Thankful?
We are simply partners in the mission of Jesus - however he chooses to use us.
And we parishioners are partners for each other, aren’t we?
Each with our own unique gifts and vocations.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we pray for our parish community;

may your Holy Spirit open our hearts to hear your Word of love,

welcome and forgiveness in Jesus.

May we grow in friendship and appreciation of the riches

of your glory in each of us and in our unique stories and traditions.

We make this prayer through your son,

Jesus Christ, who is our Lord for ever and ever.

Amen

St Joseph, companion on our mission, Pray for us

Every blessing
Fr John
PS Zoom Mass tomorrow (Sunday) at 11.00am
