A message from Fr John

Dear Friends
Good morning
Sometimes the readings from the Fathers of the Church in the Breviary can be difficult to make sense of, or least to translate them into our current climate. However, this is part of the challenge. And so ….
Last Sunday there was a piece from St Augustine on the Psalms and one little passage struck me:
'Forgive if anyone offends against you. Give from your riches. From whose riches do you give except from his? If you gave from your own riches it would be a bounty, but if you give from his, it is only a repayment. For what have you that you did not receive?
The most pleasing sacrifices to God are mercy, humility, confession, peace, love.'
In all things, therefore, let us give thanks to God.
St Joseph, pray for us
Every blessing
Fr John
PS Can we please have Mass on Zoom at 9.00am on Saturday morning - it will give chance for Mass for those who have busy schedules at weekend.
We will, of course meet for quiet prayer
12.30pm at OLLM
5.00pm at CTK
