A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

As some of you know, my brother, Michael, died yesterday morning after a not too long struggle with cancer. He was a very private man and didn’t want too many people to know about it. He was just two years younger than me so we grew up together and enjoyed all the things that brothers do - and probably shouldn’t do! As the years went on we learned to support each other as friends as best we could.
I and the whole family, especially his remarkable wife, will miss him dreadfully - life will never be the same.
We all know what the pain of loss is like; we know that wounds heal, but the immediate grief is almost indescribable. Please keep him in your prayer. Pray also for the kind nurse who held his hand at the last.

But I know that our family is just one of many experiencing loss these days. We are part of a whole world that is having to grieve - and prayerfully hold each other closer than ever because physically it is not possible.

Please pray for all our front line staff in hospitals, care homes and on the road. Remember too the many people who ensure that society can continue to function.

We pray for Evelyn, Winnie C., Mary, Patrick and Adela who are sick.

We pray for Michael, Roy, Alf, Malcolm, Elsie, Matthew, Stella, Chris, Kenneth, Carol Ann, Ingeburg, Winnie Y., Patricia M., Eileen, Maureen, Joan, Frank, Robert, Lynda, Cecilia, Lourdes, John and Frank and all who have died. Trusting in the Easter promise, we pray for all those who mourn.

Dear St Joseph, patron of families, pray for us

Every blessing

Fr John
