A message from Fr John

Dear Friends
Good morning - wasn’t yesterday miserable, not the way to celebrate the great feast of the Immaculate Conception. Ah well.
Something slightly different today. As you know the diocese is making great strides forwards in terms of embracing Pope Francis’ teaching on the environment through Laudato Si; so much progress in fact that we have been asked to pilot approaches to going carbon neutral. Bishop John has sent out the following note to all parishioners.

The Diocese has started work with academic partners on a ‘decarbonisation strategy.’ This will involve understanding our carbon footprint and ways to reduce it, over the next two years. The team would welcome anyone with expertise in this area in our parish communities to get in touch at decarbonisation@dioceseofsalford.org.uk, so that we are more aware of those that might want to get involved. Thank you.

What do you think? Young or old, I’m sure we have people in our parish with ideas and expertise.

Pope Francis keeps reminding us and all people that the world is a beautiful place and we need to care for it.
St Joseph, pray for us
Every blessing
Fr John
