A message from Fr John

Posted on: 02/01/2021

Dear Friends
Good morning - it looks as though we’re in for a few days cold weather. Stay warm.
A couple of reflections on today’s Gospel - John 1: 1 - 18
The first from Bishop John:
'All the readings this Sunday speak of the presence of Christ in our lives and the love of God who has always planned to be close to us, guiding us through wisdom and helping us to change our lives so that we can live what we believe in our every thought and action. God is not a long way away - he is closer to us than our very breath.'
And the second, somewhat left field, a poem from Hafez, a Persian scholar from the 14th Century:
I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in darkness,
The Astonishing Light
Of your own Being!
Man revealing God to man and revealing man’s true nature to man.
St Joseph, pray for us
Every blessing
Fr John
