A message from Fr John

Dear Friends
Good morning - more restrictions which were inevitable, I suppose. We’ll have to wait to absorb all the implications.
Bishop John’s reflection for today says:
‘Faith is very practical, and every action, choice and decision has an impact on our brothers and sisters throughout the world. We must be sure that our actions show care for our common home.’
With that in mind, and on behalf of everyone who both gave and received gifts over the Christmas celebrations, thank you for all the cards and presents that were shared across the parish and through our wider networks. I was enormously thrilled at the support you gave to Caritas, our schools and the Food Bank - on their behalf, I thank you.
And with the Bishop’s words in mind again, I was pleased to receive a present of a pullover/fleece made by Craghoppers which is lovely and warm but which states that it was made from 14 recycled plastic bottles! One could never have guessed. Well done to Craghoppers for doing their bit for for our common home.
Stay warm and safe - and let’s continue to pray for each other and look after our neighbours.
‘We don’t know about tomorrow,’ said the horse. ‘All we need to know is that we love each other.’
St Joseph, pray for us
Every blessing
Fr John
PS please pray for Tim (not from our parish) who is making his way to heaven
