A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

Good morning
The events from USA continue to frighten us - and, probably, the number of people wandering round without masks even more so. We know that staying safe means keeping ourselves and each other safe. Let us continue to pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit of wisdom, courage and humility.
It brings to mind the great poem by John Donne
No man is an island
No man is an island,
Entire of itself;
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main;
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less,
As well as if a promontory were,
As well as if a manor of thy friend’s
Or of thine own were;
Any man’s death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind;
And therefore never send to know
For whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.
Poignant to say the least.
Please pray for Maureen who went to heaven this morning, and for Craig who is making his way there.
St Joseph, patron of all those who struggle to make sense of things, pray for us
Every blessing
Fr John
