A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

Good morning

These days can get long and dreary for all of us, young and old, and we sometimes need the grace of God for a sudden inspiration that will give a glimpse of hope and light - but we need to be open-hearted enough to see it, to catch it, to hear it, to feel it.

How about this poem from Siegfried Sassoon - and remember the horrors he had been through

Everyone Sang

Everyone suddenly burst out singing:
And I was filled with such delight
As prisoned birds must find in freedom,
Winging wildly across the white
Orchards and dark-green fields; on - on - and out of sight.

Everyone’s voice was suddenly lifted;
And beauty came like the setting sun:
My heart was shaken with tears; and horror
Drifted away . . . O, but Everyone
Was a bird; and the song was wordless; the singing will
never be done.

O for that grace - let’s pray

St Joseph, beacon of hope, pray for us

Every blessing

Fr John
