A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

Good morning - these days have been lovely, sunny yet bracing

St Augustine is one of the greatest of the theologians of the early centuries, laying down a pattern of thinking and prayer which is still treasured, 1,600 years after his death. He was also very pastoral, acknowledging that we are all pilgrims on a journey.

He wrote:

'And now regarding love, which the Apostle says is greater than the other two - that is faith and hope - for the more richly it dwells in a person, the better the person in whom it dwells. For when we ask whether someone is good, we are not asking what they believe, or hope, but what they love. Now … the person who loves aright also believes and hopes rightly.’

And there is no time like the present …..

St Joseph, companion on our journey, pray for us

Every blessing

Fr John
