A message from Fr John

Dear Friends
Many blessings on this Ascension Day - a lovely feast which offers so much to look forward to in the descent of the Holy Spirit.
Mass today is 12.00pm
We might do well to look back at Easter and all it has meant to us. Fr Michael Heap M.Afr. offers these thoughts:
"The hurt, fears and sufferings of Jesus at Easter were real. God was not commiserating with us, feeling sorry for us, nor rescuing us. Easter was about Jesus taking part with us in real life and death. But Easter is not only about death and suffering. It is about Jesus ‘betting’ his life that God’s promises can be trusted. The resurrection is Jesus saying, ‘Do to be afraid. It is I.’
Death and suffering are real but ultimately they pass. All human life will pass. All we have known will pass. Only god’s promises remain. Only God’s love remains. Only God’s life remains and he is offering it to us."
We pray for ourselves and each other that God’s love becomes ever more real for us here and now.
Still waiting for suggestions about ‘lockdown’ books - any ideas?

Let us pray for those who are sick:

Evelyn, Adela, Winnie, Sylvia, Sister Kevina and Joe

And for those who have died:

Fr Peter, Michael, Roy, Alf, Malcolm, Elsie, Matthew, Anne, Stella, Chris, Kenneth, Carol Ann, Ingeburg, Winnie, Patricia M., Eileen, Maureen, Joan, Frank, Robert, Lynda, Cecilia, Lourdes, Dale, John, Eileen, Michael, Graham, Maria, Andrew, Gladys, Ellen, Patrick, Pauline, Michael, Alice, Mary and Gordon

We remember all those who mourn

Let us pray too for our teachers and school staff who are care for our children these days and every day.
St Joseph, patron of families, pray for us
Every blessing
Fr John
