A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

Good morning

Further to yesterday’s little reminder about reaching out to the wider Church through Missio/Red Box and Cafod, I thought you might be interested to see some figures and a note of appreciation from Kenya where your Red Box contributions are so important, welcomed and necessary.

Over 500,000 people have lost their formal jobs while about 300,000 others have had to take pay cuts of up to 50% of their salaries. The informal sector which caters for 48% of the population is grossly affected. The consequences are that people cannot buy basic needs at home and pay their utility bills. As a result, hunger and stress are the great challenges today.

"Your recent donation to our emergency fund, comes as a reprieve to the community who are living in total hope that our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth. Thank you so much for journeying with us, this gesture will be remembered through history.

I know that in Cameroon your donations to the emergency fund have been paying for essential PPE for front-line staff in mission hospitals and dispensaries.
If you would like to help this relief work in Kenya, Cameroon and Sri Lanka you can send it direct to
Missio
23 Eccleston Square
London
SW1V 1NU
Or put a cheque, payable to Missio through the presbytery door.
Let’s continue to remember in our prayer today all those who care for the sick and all our frontline workers:
Joseph, Lisa, Patrick, Chris, Catherine, Anne, Terry, Mark, Theo, Clare, Richard, Anthony, Jane, James, Andrew, Mary, Francis, Ruth, Tony, Sue, Dan, Fiona, Katy
St Joseph, patron of the sick and dying, pray for us
Every blessing
Fr John
