A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

Good morning
Now we’re really back to Manchester weather - home sweet home.
Pope Francis’ homily on Sunday - for Corpus Christi - re-emphasised the connection between the Mass, our celebration and remembering of the sacrifice of Jesus and our sharing in his Body and Blood. He was very clear that the Body of Christ is to be encountered in all parts of our lives especially in our outreach to and our caring for the most vulnerable in our world.
As parts of that Body we all share responsibility for all the other parts, now more than ever when we can’t actually gather for that celebration except in the ritual world. There’s a powerful sentence in the first Letter of St Peter: ‘whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may glorified in all things through Jesus Christ’. (1Peter 4: 11)
Thank you for all you are doing to care for the extended Body of the Lord.
The Pope also spoke of the importance of Eucharistic Adoration as our way of cementing that Real Presence of the Lord in our hearts and minds. We meet each day at 5.00pm for our silent Exposition.
We continue to pray for those who are sick especially
Adela, Winnie, Sylvia, Joe, Susan, Irene, Audrey, Janet, Paddy and Maureen

And for those who have died especially

Fr Peter, Michael, Roy, Alf, Malcolm, Elsie, Matthew, Anne, Stella, Chris, Kenneth, Carol Ann, Ingeburg, Winnie, Patricia, Eileen, Maureen, Joan, Frank, Robert, Lynda, Cecilia, Lourdes, Dale, John, Eileen, Michael, Graham, Maria, Andrew, Gladys, Ellen, Patrick, Pauline, Michael, Alice, Gordon, Mary William, Lynn, Elsie, Tom, Richard, Paula, Dennis and Michael

St Joseph, guardian of the poor, pray for us
Every Blessing
Fr John
