A message from Fr John

Dear Friends

This is going to be a very strange Holy Week. We will celebrate the ceremonies as best we can but that vital component of sharing in church is not possible. This is a real test of faith in the hidden mysteries revealed.

This morning’s Office of Readings is from St Augustine and there are two sentences which stand out:
‘The passion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gives us the confidence of glory and a lesson in the endurance of suffering.’
and
‘What God promises us for the future is great, but what we recall as already done for us is much greater.’

We hold each other in that treasury of faith.

There is some good news - both Patricia and Evelyn have been moved off the Covid ward onto a mainstream ward. Please continue to pray for them with Roy, Steve, Winnie C., Mary and Matthew.
Today we have the graveside funeral of Edward Graham, please pray for him and his family. Pray too for Mary, Chris, Sharon, Frank, Mary, Alf & Marcia and for all those who mourn them.

We keep in prayer all those who are caring for the sick in any way and for the scientists and engineers who are searching for solutions.

St Joseph, our friend and companion, pray for us

Every blessing

Fr John
