Dear Friends

Good morning - brightening up - and maybe a little more warmth

What did you think of Miroslav Holub’s poem yesterday?

Well here’s another:

Bones

We lay aside
useless bones,
ribs of reptiles,
jawbones of cats,
the hip-bone of the storm,
the wish-bone of Fate.

To prop the growing head
of Man
We seek
a backbone
that will stay
straight.

On which point, we might ponder whether humankind actually has a backbone sufficient to make the necessary changes in life style and outlook that will enable all men and women to flourish and our world to be nurtured and cared for.
Everyone keeps talking about the ‘new normal’, but how are we going to engage with it creatively in such a way that radical decisions can be made and adhered to.
Our parish Eco-team will meet up on Zoom and begin to think through some possible implications for us - as individuals and as a parish.

Let us remember to pray for Pope Francis as he leads us through these ‘strange times’ and for CAFOD as they too think about some of the implications for the worldwide Church.
