Parish Visitation Report

Posted on: 08/12/2018

We have received Bishop John’s formal report on his Parish Visitation. He enjoyed visiting all the communities, plus some of the sick and housebound, the convent, the hospice and our two primary schools. These are some of the salient points he noted:

  • good relations with the other Christian Churches
  • people have been very generous in adapting to the amalgamation of the parish
  • the new-found vibrancy of Lancashire Martyrs community
  • music, singing and reading was good
  • we have good teams of lay leaders as part of the Hope in the Future programme
  • we need to find people who will help develop more administrative and pastoral duties
  • although there are some good groups of young people across the three communities, he would like to encourage us to reach out in new ways to others
  • our schools are excellent in their care for children of all abilities and backgrounds
  • and the parish properties are being attended to

Bishop John also thanks everyone for their warm welcome and sharing so much of their prayer, hopes and their concerns with him.
