Restoring Holy Communion under both kinds

Posted on: 15/04/2023

Bishop John has indicated that we can resume our previous practice of receiving communion from the chalice.

However, having taken account of the views of a number of parishioners, we will postpone the resumption for a short time and take the opportunity to recruit some new Ministers of Holy Communion, have some time for reflection on that ministry, and training in all the health and safety aspects of distribution. It will also be an opportunity to re-examine our care for the sick and housebound. It is important that we all feel confident as we move to share in the fulness of the Lord's Table.

We will, however, maintain the current custom of receiving the host on our hands only.
